My river reed necklaces are based on traditional necklaces held in the Melbourne Museum. They were given to people passing through Boon Wurrung country, part of the Kulin Nation, as a sign of safe passage and friendship.
For me, making these objects and super sizing them is about passing on cultural knowledge and creative art practices through research in Museum collections here in Australia and overseas. And passing this knowledge onto the next generation.
